BENACEL®

BenaCel® is absorbable, hemostatic gauze, made of highly purified oxidized regenerated cellulose. BenaCel® acts instantly to control bleeding. Upon contact with blood, BenaCel® will absorb the blood and expand, transforming into a sticky, gelatinous material. By applying gentle pressure at this point, BenaCel® will adhere to the wound, sealing the ends of the venous capillaries. The hemostatic effect facilitates the coagulation process, transforming soluble fibrinogen into a net of insoluble fibrin to stop the bleeding.

BenaCel® gauze may be applied in one of two ways: in its dry state or after immersion in physiological saline. Regardless of its form, BenaCel® must be pressed lightly against the wound site to stop the bleeding.

Product availability
BenaCel® is available in different sizes, including 5mm x 7mm (cylindrical plug), 15mm x 15mm, 5cm x 5cm, 5cm x 10cm, 10cm x 10cm. Other sizes and configurations are also available upon request. The 5mm x 7mm and 15mm x 15mm sizes of BenaCel® are contained in blister packages. Other sizes are stored in foil pouches. Products are sterile packaged.
